Marnita Bahmer

Mixed Media Artist

Artist Bio

Self-taught mixed media artist, wife, mother, and grandma. I have lived in Columbia County since the late 60s. I started with doodling on my papers and notebooks in grade school. Took all the classes I could in school. Then life got busy. Raised a beautiful daughter, then two wonderful grands kids came into my life. It wasn’t until my granddaughter bloomed into an amazing artist that I began my journey back to my art. She has been my inspiration.

I find myself wanting to learn every medium I can, junk journals, painting, drawing, clay art, altered bottles, boxes, sewing, and crocheting. For the last five years, I have been a 4H art teacher. Seeing the look on the faces that I teach when they learn something new or finish a project that wins a ribbon is priceless. Now a member of the Columbia County Artist Guild, and learning so much from all the talented people in our area.

I couldn’t do this without my family and friends' love and support.

Why I’m a Guild Member

The art guild has been a great way to meet with other artists in the area. Getting information, idea’s and inspiration from others keeps me motivated in my own art.
